QUAIL RIDGE FIRST COLD PRESSED EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL has been extracted using a traditional Tuscan Olive Oil Mill at the grove site. The olives are grown on terraces overlooking the rugged coastline of Tutukaka in the clean green environment of New Zealand.

OUR OLIVE OIL Is cold pressed on the property almost as soon as its hand picked and certainly within 12 hours. The picked olives are laid out on racks washed, de-leafed, weighed and pressed. We are meticulous about hygiene in the purpose built press shed and the storage of our oil.

We have 3 single varietals for sale:

  • Koroneiki (INTENSE)
    A cultivar from Greece gives a robust, intense herbaceous peppery taste. Use on strongly seasoned pasta, bean dishes, thick soups or in any dish where a more assertive flavour is required.

  • Leccino (MEDIUM)  
    A cultivar from Italy give a medium to robust buttery flavor.
    Use as above or drizzle on grilled vegetables, salads etc.

  • Estate Gold (MORE DELICATE)
    From the J5 cultivar which is from Italy is more delicate with a slight peppery after taste. Great for fish dishes, seafood, grilled vegetable and salads.
